WHY THE UNITED STATES WAS LIED AND MISLED INTO A 12 YEAR WAR IN VIETNAM AND THE CONNECTION OF THIS WAR TO THE ASSASSINATIONS OF PRESIDENT KENNEDY, DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. AND SENATOR ROBERT KENNEDY.

by Prof. Joseph Valvano

“Armies do not exist for the preservation of peace. They exist only for
the triumphant existence of WAR. The function of propaganda is not to
make an objective study of the Truth. It is not truth that matters,
but VICTORY.”
Adolf Hitler

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and
opinions of the masses is an important element in any democratic society.
Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitutes an
“invisible government,” which is the true “ruling power” of a country.
Propaganda is the “executive arm” of that invisible government.”
Edward Bernays – (the Father of Modern Scientific Propaganda)

“The Organizing Principle” of any society is for WAR. The authority of
the STATE over its citizens resides in its power to make WAR. Politics
is power (over the people) nothing more.”
from the movie JFK by Oliver Stone.

[I] WHY THE UNITED STATES WAS LIED AND MISLED INTO WHAT WOULD BECOME
A 12 YEAR WAR IN VIETNAM.

(A) Although there are a number of reasons told to the American people
as to why this Nation was taken to war in Vietnam, solid research and
the factual historical record indicate that the Nation was lied and
misled into what would become a 12 year war in Vietnam for three
major reasons:

(1) So long as Americans were fighting and dying in Vietnam, the
Military / Intelligence Complex received the largest military
defense budgets in the history of warfare up to that point in time.

(2) The Weapons Industry made massive profits from the U.S. fighting in
a 12 year war. The longer the war, the greater the profits, for every
bullet used, every bomb dropped, every helicopter shot down had to be
replaced.

(3) So long as American military presence existed in Southeast Asia,
each year over $60 billion in DRUG trafficking operations came out
of the “GOLDEN TRIANGLE,” Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam:

a. Massive amounts of drugs were flown out of Lon Chain Airport in
Laos on CIA sponsored airplanes, which were flown to major cities
in the western world and often sold on the black market.

b. Research indicates that packages of drugs were sown into the
bodies of dead American soldiers, whose bodies were then placed
into RED TAGGED coffins. When brought back to the U.S., RED TAGGED
coffins were sent for autopsies and the drugs were removed.

[II] THE PROPAGANDA USED ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO COMMIT THEM TO
CONTINUING THE WAR EFFORT IN VIETNAM.

(A) As more American citizens began to question and demonstrate against
the war in Vietnam, the Government and its Military / Intelligence
Complex sought to convince the American people that:

(1) The American commitment to fighting in Vietnam was to promote
and protect the liberties and freedoms of the people of South Vietnam.

(2) If South Vietnam fell to Communist North Vietnam, this would lead to
all of Southeast Asia falling to communist rule. (the Domino Theory)

(3) It was stated over and over again that North Vietnam leader Ho
Chi Min was a hardened Communist and that he would destroy all
attempts to establish a Democracy in Vietnam.

a. But Ho Chi Min, who had lived outside of Vietnam for nearly 30
years, having lived in both the United States and England, was a
great ADMIRERER of the United States Government, its CONSTITUTION
and its Declaration of Independence.

b. In fact, he so admired the United States that he used this Nation’s
DECLARATION of INDEPENDENCE, for his PROCLAMATION to the world as
reasons why Vietnam should be FREE and INDEPENDENT from rule over
Vietnam by the Government of France, which had ruled Vietnam as
a French colony, since 1858.

c. The factual record shows that Ho Chi Min did NOT want war with the
U.S and had hoped that the U.S. Government would support Vietnam’s
quest for INDEPENDENCE from French rule.

d. It was the decision of the U.S. Government to support the French
Government in its colonial rule over Vietnam and, when France pulled
out of fighting in Vietnam, to TAKE OVER the WAR effort in Vietnam:

e. that drove Ho Chi Min to seek political and military support from
Communist China and Russia for his fight for Freedom, Independence
and a United Vietnam.

[III] A BRIEF HISTORY OF VIETNAM AND ITS QUEST FOR ESTABLISHING
FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE FROM FRENCH RULE OVER VIETNAM.

(1) Most of the American people and most of the soldiers who fought,
were wounded and died in fighting in Vietnam all at a cost of the lives
of nearly “3” million Vietnamese men, women and children, NEVER knew
the true history of Vietnam and its struggle to gain its Freedom,
Liberty and Independence from French rule.

(2) In 1858, the French Government sought to take control of Indo China
by invading the Southeast Asian countries of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia,
adding them to its Colonial rule and expansion.

(3) When Japan invaded Indo China in the 1930’s, Vietnam fought against
Japan as an ally, along side France, England and the Unites States,
all through World War II.

(4) In 1945, after Japan was defeated, Vietnam asked for its freedom
and independence from French rule. The French Government refused to
grant independence to Vietnam and instead sent military troops into
Vietnam to suppress the Vietnamese quest for Freedom and Independence.

(5) By 1953, France was losing its war effort in Vietnam. President
Eisenhower increased U.S. support for the French military effort to
defeat Vietnam’s effort to gain its independence from French rule.

(6) By 1955, although Vietnam had been divided into North and South,
France had completely pulled out of Vietnam and the Eisenhower
Administration had committed the United States to, ultimately,
take over the WAR effort in Vietnam.

[IV] PRESIDENT KENNEDY DECIDED TO REMOVE AMERICAN MILITARY PRESENCE
IN SOUTHEAST ASIA, WHICH WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THE NATION FROM BEING
TAKEN INTO WHAT WOULD BECOME A 12 YEAR WAR IN VIETNAM.

(1) After John Kennedy was elected as President in 1960, he initially
and publicly supported President Eisenhower’s military policies in
Southeast Asia, increasing U.S. military presence in Vietnam to over
16,000 military advisors.

(2) But by September, 1963, President Kennedy had reached the
decision that a land war in Southeast Asia was NOT in the best
interest of this Nation.

(3) In October, 1963, President Kennedy removed over 1,000 military
personnel from Vietnam and then issued “National Security Action
Memorandum #263” to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, which indicated to
them that, after the 1964 Presidential election, if he were reelected,
he intended to remove all U.S. military forces from Vietnam.

a. To the Military / Intelligence Complex, NSAM #263 made it clear
that it would NOT get its WAR in Southeast Asia, which sent
shock waves through the highest levels of this MILITARY /
INTELLIGENCE COMPLEX.

(4) On November 22, 1963, NSAM #263 was made NULL and VOID with the
Assassination of JFK in Dallas, Texas, whereby Lee Harvey Oswald
was presented to the American people as the “crazy lone nut assassin”
who killed JFK.

(5) On November 26, new President Lyndon Johnson issued NSAM #273,
which REVERSED JFK’s NSAM #263, and which fully committed over
2 million American soldiers to fighting in what would become a
12 year WAR in Vietnam.

a. It is interesting to note that the DATE that NSAM #273 was written
was on November 21, 1963, one day BEFORE JFK went to Dallas and was
assassinated. On November 21, JFK was STILL the President of the
United States and he did NOT decide to reverse his own decision
to end U.S. military involvement in Vietnam.

b. The date that NSAM #273 was written on, November 21, 1963,
indicates that it was known that JFK would NOT be President of the
United States on November 22, 1963.

c. National Security Advisor, George McBundy, indicated that he wrote
NSAM #273 for JFK, that the wording of NSAM #273 was changed to
what it became, which committed millions of U.S. military troops to
Vietnam and that the date, November 21 was NOT some covert operation
against JFK.

d. This is the same man, who as National Security Advisor to President
Johnson, was fully aware that LBJ had lied to and misled the American
people in claiming that North Vietnamese Gunboats had twice attacked
a U.S. Naval ship in the Gulf of Tonkin, which LBJ used as an excuse
to fully commit this Nation to an all out WAR in Vietnam, costing the
lives of over 58,875 American soldiers and over 300,000 wounded.

e. It was reported within political circles that, after becoming
President and as he faced the coming 1964 Presidential election,
LBJ had said to his Joint Chiefs of Staff, “Just get me elected
and you will get your WAR.”

(4) In 1979, a Congressional Committee of the United States House
of Representatives, “The House Select Committee On Assassinations,”
issued their 2 year investigation report into the assassinations
of both JFK and MLK.

a. The conclusion of this legally formed U.S. Congressional Committee
of the House of Representatives was that CONSPIRACIES did exist to
kill both President Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., thereby
making NULL and VOID the findings of the illegally formed Warren
Commission, whose very formation violated the Constitutional Laws
of the State of Texas.

b. The House Select Committee called upon the U.S. Justice Department
to continue the investigations into the murders of both JFK and MLK,
and seek to bring the murderers of JFK and MLK to justice, but instead,
the Justice Department did NOTHING.

c. Although a Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives found
that CONSPIRACIES did exist to KILL JFK and MLK, the Justice Department
and its investigative agency, the FBI, “DID NOTHING!!”

(see posts on this site – WHY JFK WAS ASSASSINATED, WHO KILLED HIM
AND WHY HIS MURDER IS AS IMPORTANT TODAY, AS IT WAS OVER 54 YEARS
AGO; THE IMPORTANCE OF NSAM #263, NSAM #273 AND THE MURDER OF
PRESIDENT KENNEDY ON NOVEMBER 22, 1963)

[V] THE ASSASSINATION OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. AND ITS CONNECTION
TO THE U.S. WAR EFFORT IN VIETNAM.

(1) Most would agree that Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech was one of the
greatest speeches given, in dealing with both human and civil rights. But one
of the most IMPORTANT speeches that Dr. King ever gave was his speech,
“Why I Am Against the War in Vietnam” and it was this speech which may
very well have cost him his LIFE.

(2) By giving his speech against the WAR in Vietnam, Dr. King was literally
taking on, challenging the power and the control of the Military / Industrial
Complex that President Eisenhower warned the Nation about in his Farewell
Address to the Nation in 1960, in which he said:

” Our Military organization today bears little relation to that known of
any of my predecessors…we annually spend on military security alone more
that the net income of all United States corporations.”

“In the councils of Government we must guard against the acquisition of
unwarranted influence ..by the Military / Industrial Complex. The potential
for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.”

“We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our Liberties
or democratic processes. We should take NOTHING for granted…the power
of money is ever present and is to be gravely regarded.”

“WE must be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy
could, itself, become the captive of a SCIENTICIC / TECHNOLOGICAL ELITE.”

(3) The historical record indicates that Dr. King had decided to
establish a new, third political party, “The National Conference
For New Politics” and to then run as a presidential candidate in
the 1968 Presidential election. If he were to be elected as the
President, his intention, among other things, was to END the WAR
in Vietnam.

(4) This was a major threat to the two existing political parties,
to the political elite that politically controlled and ruled over
the politics of this Nation and to the Military / Industrial Complex
that was greatly benefiting from the WAR in Southeast Asia.

(5) War is “BIG BUSINESS,” the biggest business on this planet along with
the selling of oil and drugs. Dr. King was a major threat to the WAR in
Vietnam and in being so, he threatened the massive Military budget, the
massive profits of the Weapons Industry and the billions of dollars in
drug trafficking that was coming out of the Southeast Asian “Golden
triangle.”

(6) Therefore, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. became a liability, an
“Enemy of the State” and in the arena of covert operations of the
Military / Intelligence Complex, he had to be “neutralized” to
assure that the War effort in Vietnam would be continued.

(7) This was taken care of in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4th, 1968,
when Dr. King was assassinated and James Earl Ray was presented to the
American people as the “crazy, lone nut who assassinated DR. King.”

(8) In 1999, the family of Dr. King filed a civil lawsuit against the
FBI, the Memphis Police Dept. and elements of the U.S. Military as
being involved in a conspiracy to kill Dr. King.

(9) After a 4 week trial, based upon the evidence presented in court, a
jury of 12 American citizens ruled that the FBI and elements within the
Memphis Police Department and the U.S. Military did, in fact, conspire
to kill Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

(10) The results of this Civil Court lawsuit was hardly reported to the
American people by this nation’s National News Media and NO comment or
reaction came from the U.S. Department of Justice or its agency, the FBI.
But the Nation does celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “BIRTHDAY.”

(see post on this site – A DETAILED ANALYSIS OF WHY MLK WAS ASSASSINATED.
WHO KILLED HIM AND WHY HIS MURDER IS AS IMPORTANT TODAY AS IT WAS OVER
49 YEARS AGO)

[VI] THE ASSASSINATION OF SENATOR ROBERT F. KENNEDY AND ITS CONNECTION TO
THE U.S. WAR EFFORT IN VIETNAM.

(A) As he ran as a Presidential candidate for the 1968 Presidential election,
Senator Robert Kennedy had taken a definite stand against U.S. continuation of
the WAR in Vietnam.

(1) As the Attorney General of the U.S. Justice Department and as the closest
advisor to his brother, President Kennedy, RFK had been instrumental in helping
JFK reach the decision to end U.S. military involvement in Vietnam.

(2) It was the personal advise of Robert Kennedy that most helped JFK to issue
NSAM #263, which clearly indicated to the Joint Chiefs of Staff that after the
1964 Presidential election, if JFK were reelected, U.S. military efforts in
Vietnam would come to an end.

(3) Prior to and during his 1968 Presidential candidacy, Robert Kennedy made it
very clear that, if he were elected, he would bring the WAR in Vietnam to an end,
just as his brother, JFK, had intended to do.

(4) Therefore, just as were JFK and MLK, Robert Kennedy became a major threat to
those who lied and misled this Nation into the WAR in Vietnam. His election was
a major threat to the massive Military war budget, a major threat to the massive
profits being made on this WAR by the Weapons Industry and he was a major threat
to the massive drug operation coming out of the “GOLDEN TRIANGLE” in Southeast Asia.

(5) But RFK was also a major threat to those who killed JFK in Dallas on November
22, 1963, because as President, RFK would have had the power of the PRESIDENCY to
use in order to bring to justice those CONSPIRATORS who killed his brother,
President Kennedy.

(6) This problem was neutralized, taken care of at the Ambassador Hotel in Los
Angeles, on June 6, 1968, when Robert Kennedy was assassinated and Sirhan Sirhan
was presented to the American people as the “crazy, lone nut assassin,” who killed
RFK.

(SEE POST ON THIS SITE – WHY Robert KENNEDY WAS MURDERED AND A NATION THAT
DOES NOT GIVE A DAMN)

[VII] THE GULF OF TONKIN INCIDENT: HOW PRESIDENT LYNDON JOHNSON LIED TO AND
MISLED THE NATION INTO AN ALL OUT WAR IN VIETNAM.

(1) After JFK was assassinated in Dallas, as the Vietnam War continued,
President Lyndon Johnson, along with his military advisors, including the
Joint Chiefs of Staff, began looking for an excuse, a political / military
“crisis” to use as a reason to widen the WAR in Vietnam. They found that
excuse in what became known as the “GULF of TONKIN INCIDENT.”

(2) In August, 1968, President Johnson went on National TV and indicated
to the American people that at the Gulf of Tonkin, off the coast of North
Vietnam, in open waters, four North Vietnamese “gunboats” attacked the
Naval Destroyer, the USS Maddox, over a two day period on August 2nd and
August 4th.

(3) It was stated to the American people that, because of this unprovoked
attack, LBJ was forced to increase the military effort in the WAR in
Vietnam.

(4) Solid research came to indicate that this ATTACK by North Vietnamese
“GUNBOATS” did NOT happen, did NOT take place. Instead, President Johnson
LIED TO and MISLED the American people, so as to increase and widen the U.S.
War effort in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, just what the Military / Industrial
Complex wanted.

(5) President Johnson, Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara, National
Security Advisor, George McBundy, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and members
of LBJ’s Presidential Cabinet all knew that the Gulf of Tonkin Incident
was a complete LIE and was being used to commit this Nation to a long
term WAR in Vietnam.

(6) This false military charge against North Vietnam, as having attacked
a USS Naval Destroyer, caused the U.S. Congress to pass the GULF OF TONKIN
RESOLUTION, which gave President Johnson the legal power and authority to
widen and extend the U.S. Military Commitment for sending more than two
million American military troops to the WAR effort in Vietnam:

a. all at a cost of over 58,875 American dead, over 300,000 Americans
wounded, over 10,000 American hard core drug addicts returning from the
War and with over 3 million Vietnamese men, women and children killed.

(7) The False claims by LBJ’s Presidential Administration were fully
supported by the New York Times, the Washington Post and so many other
National News Media outlets, many of whom were on the CIA payroll as
CIA assets.

(8) History has indicated that the claims that the loss of Vietnam to
Communist rule would lead to the collapse of all of Southeast Asia,
resulting in a major threat to the National Security of the U.S.,
were completely untrue and were nothing more than Propaganda
tactics used to take the U.S. to WAR in Vietnam.

a. Today, Vietnam is a well functioning country, having established
working trade agreements with the United States. And all of Southeast
Asia did NOT collapse and become a National Security threat to the
United States.

b. Twelve years of WAR, the deaths of nearly 60,000 American soldiers,
with over 300,000 wounded, along with the deaths of nearly 3 million
Vietnamese men, women and children, the murder of American political
leaders, who sought to end WAR and establish Peace:

c. all this based upon lies, falsehoods, disinformation and propaganda
to lie to and mislead the American people into a long term WAR.

(see posts on this site – WAR IS BIG BUSINESS; HOW THE NATIONAL NEWS
MEDIA HAS MISLED THE AMERICAN IN THE ASSASSINATIION OF JFK; A NATIONAL
THAT SUPPORTSA WAR THAT IT WAS LIED AND MISLED INTO IN THE MIDEAST; ETC.)

[VIII] AMERICA REFUSES TO LEARN FROM HISTORY AND “THOSE WHO REFUSE TO LEARN
FROM HISTORY ARE CONDEMNED TO REPEAT IT.”

(A) The American people simply REFUSE to learn from HISTORY!!

(1) This Nation was LIED and MISLED into a 12 year WAR in Vietnam
and here the Nation has now been lied and misled into what has become
a 17 year WAR in the Mideast, with no end in sight and with over 8,000
American soldiers killed, over 10,000 wounded and over 700,000 civilians
dead.

(2) Nearly 3,000 American citizens were killed on 9/11, under very mysterious
circumstances and the American people ask NO questions, demand no TRUTH
about those innocent American citizens killed on American soil.

(3) The events of 9/11 were used as a “NEW PEARL HARBOR,” a “CALL TO WAR”
to take this Nation into what would become a 17 year war in the Mideast,
the longest WAR ever fought in American History and:

a. We have NO protests against this WAR that the Nation was lied and
misled into, NO demonstrations against this illegal 17 year WAR being
fought, with no end in sight.

b. Here we have a WAR that was NEVER declared by the U.S. Congress, which
the U.S. Constitution clearly states has the power and the responsibility
to do, NOT the President.

c. Those in power got around this Constitutional Law by passing THE WAR
POWERS RESOLUTION in 1973, which gave the President the POWER to send
American troops into a “Military Police Action” for an indefinite
period of time, without Congress having to declare WAR.

(4) How different are the American people from that of the German people
who, under the rule of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Regime, asked No questions,
demanded NO truth and ultimately allowed Hitler to take them into a World
War, costing the lives of over 70 million people.

Any society that claims to LOVE its country and Love its children, must
ask the hard questions of its government and must demand the TRUTH from
its Government in order to protect its Liberties, its Freedoms and the
Security of its Children.

President Kennedy once said that “DEMOCRACY is not a gift, it is a
RESPONSIBILITY.”

We are RESPONSIBLE for the Liberties, the Freedoms and the future security
of our Children and their Children for generations to come. We must not,
we cannot fail them.
